Oral controlled release and gastro-intestinal targetting

Our proprietary controlled  release technologies allow for the development of new and improved formulations that are capable of addressing unmet medical needs across a broad range of important therapeutic areas. These clinically proven technologies can be used to achieve a wide range of in vivo release profiles (modified, sustained, targetted etc) and are manufactured using conventional methodology and processing equipment. When used alone, or in combination, they can help to to improve efficacy, enhance safety and increase patient compliance.

Some recent applications include:

  • Achieving faster onset of action for an enteric coated gastro-irritant drug
  • Less frequent dosing and fewer pills to improve convenience and compliance
  • Reduced potential of overmedicating to achieve satisfactory effect - drug was targeted for release in a specific region of the GI tract for optimal absorption and efficacy
  • Improved tolerability due to a lower peak drug concentration
