For parenteral administration, identifying suitable dosing vehicles for poorly soluble drug candidates is an extremely complex task and is associated with innumerable formulation-related performance issues. In addition, due to the multiple routes of adminisration available (i.e. IV bolus, subcutaneous, intramuscular etc) many excipients cannot be used for all applications or at the same extent; therefore careful consideration needs to paid to the level and type of excipient used.

In order to address these issues, Kuecept has developed the award winning Solent™ Parenteral platform, a Rapid Formulation Service designed to screen for and identify enabling formulation approaches and strategies for parenteral drug delivery of poorly soluble compounds. Using only milligram quantities of material and semi-automate screening technologies, the Solent™ platform offers the following advantages:

• Platform uses only GRAS excipients and processes, ensuring formulations are safe for both preclinical and human trials
• Real-time monitoring of drug kinectic solubility, ensuring formulations are stable and will not precipitate on storage
